I saw a picture on Facebook today that resembled a sign you would see on a highway indicating the upcoming exits. It said: “Dreams: Next Exit.”
We all have dreams but some of us are so impatient to see those dreams come true. All dreams require hard work and we have all been around long enough to know that nothing comes without investing some hard work and tears. I can admit that patience has not been my strong suit, but I am still working on it.
This sign reminded me that our breakthrough is just around the corner. My pastor preached a sermon where he emphasized the importance of not giving up. You never know: the moment you decide to give up, your blessing/breakthrough could be on the way. But, by giving up, you forfeit what you could have had.
What are your dreams for your life? your career? your family? What have you done to make those dreams come true?
No matter what the dream is, my first piece of advice is to tell the dream to someone you trust. We all need someone to hold us accountable. That person wil support what you’re trying to do, encourage you when you get defeated and celebrate with you when you succeed. Obviously, this person needs to be selected very carefully as not everyone in your life will give the type of support you need.
Next, come up with a game plan. Figure out what you need to do to get to where you want to be. Research research RESEARCH!
Also, figure out what obstacles are standing in your way and anticipate what obstacles may come your way through this journey. Come up with a plan to extinguish whatever, or whoever, may stop you from reaching your goal.
Dreams are nice to have but they mean nothing if you don’t take the time to make them come true.
